They are major determinants of world's future generation.
Many cases of divorce or perhaps neglect occur. Husbands in some cases, run away, leaving the children for the mothers to take care of. I remember reading an article which was about a tricyclist taking to his heels after his wife gave birth to triplets.
Now, the question is; how does the woman fare? How does she ensure her children don't suffer from malnutrition or even die of hunger? The man has dashed away! he's lost and nowhere to be found! But the mother wouldn't; no matter the circumstances. She rather dies than see her child suffer.

You are too important to be underestimated.
Downgrading the women and allowing them to suffer is a crime on humanity.
As For the extremists, I want to know where Islam says women shouldn't be educated or involved in buying and selling.
Islam is not and cannot be a platform for wickedness. Islam moves with realities of time. You can't apply 13th century Islam in 21st century. current challenges are so different from those of 13th century. Umar bn Khattaab said islam moved along with the conditions and realities of time and place (ask me for proof if you've not heard it before)
Islam liberated the women and gave them rights when they had none. It upheld the women when they were liberated. Islam protected the women and would not do other wise now.
Education doesn't always translate to degradation of morals.
